Results from the Food drive for the Sacred Heart Center

Good morning all,

We had a great food drive for the Sacred Heart Center on Saturday!  In addition to an impressive amount of donations of food, toiletries, and household cleaning items, our parishioners donated almost $1,500 in checks and gift cards.  Wonderful!  Their generosity is truly inspiring!

I wanted to thank everyone for all your good work, your time and your energy that helped make the Food Drive for the Sacred Heart Center be such a success!

  1. Thank you for the support and encouragement from the church, and helping to get the word out via our parish emails and our website!  We had a great turnout and it was so good to see so many of our parishioners come by with food and other donations.
  2. Thank you for the coordination with the Sacred Heart Center, Paul.  They were very, very appreciative and a joy to work with when we dropped off the contributions.
  3. Greg, your horse trailer makes it so easy and it can really hold a large load!  Thank you for the use of it and your expert towing!
  4. Brothers, thank you for your time and energy helping at the collection and the drop-off!  Many hands make light work!

We hope to coordinate the next food drive for Commonwealth Catholic Charities.

Thank you again, everyone!  If you have ideas that would make these food drives even more successful, let us know!

Best, John K. McCulla

Thanks John for all the efforts in planning, promoting and executing this drive right up to the delivery.   I also want to join you in thanking all the great volunteers who gave up their Saturday to participate.

It was a lot of fun sharing the afternoon with all of you for a great cause, and getting to know each of you better.  The time went by fast, despite the heat that afternoon, thanks to the fellowship.

Greg and Paul, I also join John in thanking you for handling the logistics side of the drop-off.

Last but not least, I thank all Brothers, families and friends who spread the good word and came out to make donations.  The total collection that afternoon was sizable and I know will do good work.  I’ve included some photos of the haul.

Enjoy Independence Day, everyone!  May it be safe and blessed!

Regards, Douglas Lynch

outdoor mass Sunday 7/5/20 at 11:00 at the Benedictine Abbey

Received the following and was asked to spread the word:

There will be an outdoor mass this Sunday at 11:00 at the Benedictine Abbey.  The intention is to offer access to the Eucharist to the elderly and those who have been too nervous about indoor crowds, or too put off by the elaborate procedures, to try attending the services currently available.

Bring your own chair and sit as near or far away as you want.  Bring an umbrella if the sun is too strong for you.  Communion will be brought to attendees where they are sitting.

Please spread the word to any who may be interested.  And if there is good turnout, they’ll do it again.
