Reach out to Texas with prayers and Offers of Support

Worthy Grand Knights and Faithful Navigators,

Please see the message below from the State Deputy of Texas.  Please ask your councils and assemblies during your September meeting to assist those in Texas who are dealing with a historic storm.  This disaster will not be over in a short amount of time and whatever your council and assembly can contribute will help our Brother Knights who may have lost everything during the flooding.

Worthy State Deputies and fellow Classmates –

Thank you so much for the many of you who have reached out to Texas with prayers and offers of support.  We greatly appreciate the spirit of fraternal charity which drives us all to respond to the needs of Knights, their families and communities.  Know that we are also working closely with Supreme which has been very proactive in working to anticipate the needs we know are coming.

Like several other states, Texas has an active and experienced Disaster Response team.  The most immediate need is for funds to assist with shelter operations, daily food and relief for rescue and recovery workers and volunteers, and then eventually for direct relief of the most pressing of uninsured losses.  Progress can be monitored at our website homepage at www.tkofc.org and also at the Order’s Supreme website at www.kofc.org

Donations may be made to our Disaster Relief Fund at  https://www.tkofc.org/fundraising/project/disaster-relief-fund or may be mailed to our State Council office at   6633 Hwy 290 East, Suite 204  Austin, TX  78723.

Please continue to pray for all those affected by the storm, those with significant losses, and those who will volunteer to assist in recovery.  The flooding in the Houston area and others is some of the worst in our history.  God bless them all.

Vivat Jesus!  Viva Cristo Rey!

September 11th Meeting Speaker

Below please find a couple of links that our Christo Rey speaker was hoping to get to our membership before the September meeting date. Please plan to attend, he will speak for about 15 minutes.

Also, perhaps to discuss at meeting would be a donation to K of C disaster relief efforts for our brother Knights in Texas.

Also, I’d like to make an announcement about our St. Bridget pro-life ministry program on Saturday, 10/21 from 9-11 am. We have a panel of speakers on depression/ anxiety, teen depression, and opioid addiction, along with pastoral care from a Catholic perspective regarding these issues.

Peace be with you.

Hi Mike-

Yes- I can be at your council meeting on Sept. 11 starting at 6:30. I will plan to be there until 7:15. There is a video component of my presentation, so I will bring my pc…..will I have access to a projector to show it?

Does the group ever get digital info to view before a presentation? Attached are some docs in digital form as well as links to some Youtube videos that tell the Cristo Rey story. Some organizations find it useful (and it saves time) for members to view content before the meeting.

Thanks for arranging this!

You can speak at the beginning of our meeting on Sept. 11 from 7:00-7:15 p.m.  We also have a social gathering with light food and drinks beginning at 6:30 if you’d care to attend.  We meet in the Rectory basement of St. Bridget.  There is a special buzzer set up on a chair next to the back door (by the main school parking lot) to press to gain admission for the K of C meeting room.  Please be careful NOT to press the buzzer on the wall for the priest’s residence…it annoys them when their doorbell rings repeatedly!  Hope this date and time works for you.  Peace be with you.

August Blood Drive Results

Thank you so much for all you did for the blood drive!  We registered 15 people and collected 15 units!  Those units can help as many as 45 patients and it is a huge help during the summertime.

The list of donors is below.

Please let me know any feedback you have for us.  John, did you send the tablecloth back or should I come pick it up?

The next blood drive is scheduled for Nov 5th and I hope you both enjoy the rest of summer!
