Monday the nation celebrates our Order’s namesake, the Great Navigator, Christopher Columbus. Each of us must observe this day in a special way. Attend an extra Mass, read his biography, participate in a wreath laying, or light a candle.
Better yet, join your fellow Sir Knights from the Calvert Province and around the country in participating in the Nation Columbus Day Celebration at Columbus Circle, in front of Union Station, in Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity to honor the great Christopher Columbus and our Order.
Please notify District Marshal Dave Todd if you will be attending.
Specifics concerning the time and meeting place are below.
Master, Virginia District
The annual Columbus Day Celebration at Union Station will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015. We are expecting at least 100 Sir Knights in full regalia. Please send the number you expect from your Assemblies to District Marshal Dave Todd, by Friday, October 9, 2015.
Remember that since this is a holiday, traffic will be light and most parking restrictions are lifted, so travel is relatively easy even though it is a weekday. This is a great Assembly or Council event that the entire family can participate in. Spread the word.

Every year, the Fourth Degree adds to the beauty and dignity of this celebration and I know that this tradition will continue once again this year. As in the past, we will again be joined by the Honor America Corps out of Rappahannock Assembly who will bring, along with other flags, all of the historical flags of the United States.
I look forward to seeing a large crowd join me on October 12th as we all celebrate Columbus Day together. Please invite Brother Knights and their families to this event but especially encourage all Fourth Degree members to turnout. Thank you.
