Please be aware of the upcoming opportunity to participate in 2nd and 3rd degree ceremonies on Saturday August 23, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Candidates for the 2nd and 3rd degree ceremonies should arrive at 8:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m., respectively, and should appear in coat and tie.

The degree ceremonies will start at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively, and will last approximately one hour each with a reception following the 3rd degree ceremony.

Please note that this is a great opportunity for current 1st degree Knights to advance to both the 2nd and 3rd degree in the Knights of Columbus in one morning.

Please also be aware that there is not another 3rd degree ceremony scheduled in the Richmond area until next June.

You are eligible for advancement in our Order.

As a Council, those of us who have already achieved this level recommend your taking these important steps toward full Knighthood.

As you witnessed in your 1st degree ceremony, there was a portion of that ceremony intended to portray a lasting impression on how you should view your life, and your stewardship.

You learned the first principle of a Knight, Charity, and we trust that you see that principle in action as you have been working with our Council.

During both the 2nd and 3rd degree ceremonies, you learn additional key principles of a Knight, put into perspective so that you will be left with a lasting impression of how it may apply to your life as a Catholic gentleman.

We encourage each of our members who are eligible to advance to the 2nd and/or 3rd degree to do so, as it places more of our Council on an equal footing with regard to our understanding of what it means to be a Knight.

Be aware, all Third Degree Knights will be eligible for the Fourth Degree in Richmond on Saturday, November 1, 2014

Opportunities like this do not come along very often.

Please join in with many of our Richmond Sir Knights on your spiritual journey to service and Knighthood!
