Men of St. Bridget Pilgrimage March 8

Men’s Trip to DC – From Mike Kozak

Please have folks contact me at to reserve a spot and to volunteer their land yachts for transportation.  Realizing now we may need to have our regular [Men’s Ministry] meeting the first Saturday in March. I made the reservations and arrangements with Fr. Larry for this before the proposed change of our meetings to the second Saturday:

March 8, 2014

6:30 a.m.(or so)   Depart front parking lot of St. Bridget

8:30 a.m. (or so)  Arrive at Catholic Information Center

Opportunity for Confession/Bookshop Visit during our time at the CIC

9:15                    Private Mass in Chapel celebrated by Fr. Larry Kutz of the Prelature of Opus Dei

10:15                   Depart for Shrine

11:00                   Guided Tour of Shrine

For those not wishing to tour the Shrine, there will be time for Confession/Bookstore/Gift Shop visits and/or time for private prayer in one of the many Chapels of the Shrine

12:00                   Those wishing quiet time, remain at Shrine at leisure.  We will have time for a quick visit to the new Shrine of Blessed John Paul II, established by the Knights of Columbus.  TWO SHRINES IN ONE DAY! (

1:10 p.m.              Stations of the Cross in the Crypt Church

1:45-3:00(or so)     Depart Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and lunch at friendly Irish Pub

5:30 (or so)           Arrive back at St. Bridget

For those who have never been to The Shrine, please note the following from the website:
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States and North America, and is one of the ten largest churches in the world.

This might be a nice recruiting tool for the K of C and the Men’s Ministry.
